Ways to Contribute

Financial support for Lend A Hand of Boulder City comes from a variety of sources, large and small. Each is important to maintaining and growing our service.

Below are some ways that you can assist us in continuing our mission to help the seniors and disabled residents of Boulder City remain independent in their homes as long as possible:

Grants

Grants are funds from government or private foundations received usually for a specific purpose and requiring compliance to written agreement and reporting. These are usually for a one-year period. Some may be available for a new request each year. Grants provide funding for operational costs, volunteer mileage reimbursement, volunteer training, taxes and fringe benefits, insurance costs.

Sponsorships

Organizations, businesses, or individuals may want to make regular substantial contributions to LAHBC for on-going operations. Sponsorships will be published if the sponsors desire. Business sponsors can have advertising and tax advantages.

Individual and Organization Donations

Individuals and organizations may want to contribute in appreciation of LAHBC services to the community, or in recognition of a special event. Some people suggest donations in lieu of gifts for Christmas, birthdays, or anniversaries.

Memorials

A memorial is a special kind of donation, where the family of a deceased person names LAHBC to receive donations in lieu of flowers as a way to remember the departed. LAHBC can directly receive the donations, send a thank you, and send the family the list of donations.

Bequests

Bequests are receipts of property through a person's will. Clients who appreciate LAHBC services may want to include Lend A Hand of Boulder City in their wills. Bequests can have tax advantages for the bequestor.

Fundraisers

Individuals and organizations may want to host fundraising events for LAHBC. For example, BC Circle regularly designates part of their concert proceeds to Lend A Hand of Boulder City. Fundraiser events provide unrestricted funds. Consider hosting an event – dinner, concert, raffle, silent auction, etc.

Lend A Hand is a Nevada non-profit corporation which was founded in 1989 and attained IRS 501(c)(3) status by 1994, therefore your donation may be tax deductible. Our service is limited to seniors 60 years of age and older, and disabled regardless of age. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, disability, religion, sex, national origin, or other legally protected status as required by federal or state law.
